Domestic valves import more than US $3 billion in less than half a year

According to the data released by China Customs, from January to may 2018, China imported 427.96 million sets of valves, an increase of 2.5% over the same period last year, and the import amount reached US $301197200, an increase of 27.3% over the same period last year.

In the development of national economy, valve as an important part of mechanical equipment manufacturing industry, has a very important role. It can be said that at present, China's valve industry is in a very favorable period of development. According to statistics, there are more than 3000 valve manufacturers in China, ranking the first in the world. They can produce gate valve, globe valve, throttle valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, diaphragm valve, plug valve, check valve, control valve and other valve products of various models and specifications to meet the needs of different industries.

However, most of the valve enterprises in China are low-level, small-scale and family workshop enterprises, which have problems such as low industrial concentration, backward technology, low product quality and lack of influential brands. In the middle and high-end valve market, the development of middle and high-end valve products in China is still insufficient. The market is still dominated by international well-known enterprises, and the share of Chinese valve enterprises is very low. This means that China's valve industry has a huge market development potential.

With the development of science and technology, the level of valve technology and material technology continue to improve, some domestic valve enterprises and research institutes are investing a lot of money in the research and development of high-end valve products. For example, the high-end valve developed by institute 11 of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Sixth Research Institute has won the bid for oil pipeline projects in Sinopec, CNOOC and local oil refining markets, defeated the largest U.S. plug valve manufacturer in the world, broke its monopoly situation in China's oil pipeline market, and ensured the safety of national energy supply.

With the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous growth of national investment in oil, natural gas, petrochemical, environmental protection, electric power and other fields, the scale of China's valve market will maintain rapid growth. According to the investment analysis and prospect forecast report of China's valve industry from 2017 to 2021 released by CIC consultants, it is estimated that the annual compound growth rate of China's valve industry in the next five years (2017-2021) will be about 1.97%, and the valve output will reach 8.86 million tons in 2021.
